Why We Started This Podcast
We started Credentialing Chronicles because transparency in healthcare matters. Patients deserve to know who’s treating them, and medical professionals deserve a fair process when navigating credentialing challenges. Our goal is to pull back the curtain on the world of medical credentialing, licensing, and compliance—shedding light on the flaws, loopholes, and behind-the-scenes realities that impact both healthcare providers and patients.
We’re here to empower Medical Services Professionals (MSPs) to create safer environments where self-disclosure is encouraged, not feared. We also want to help doctors understand how to navigate the self-disclosure process if they find themselves in trouble, ensuring they handle it the right way.
Most importantly, we believe that patients should have access to basic, verifiable information about their healthcare providers—because informed decisions lead to better, safer care. That’s why we’re here: to uncover the truth, share the insider scoop, and help everyone stay ahead of the game.
Meet the Experts Behind the Mic
Shannen Aguayo
Shannen Reyes-Aguayo is the unapologetic truth-teller behind the mic on Credentialing Chronicles. With over 25 years of credentialing experience—long before portals and digital signatures—Shannen knows firsthand how healthcare’s credentialing world really operates. As the Founder & CEO of Advanced Quality Compliance, an NCQA-certified, woman-owned, certified small business, she’s spent her career untangling messy credentialing processes, keeping providers audit-ready, and making sure no red flag slips by unnoticed.
Now, she’s pulling back the curtain and bringing the juiciest, most eye-opening credentialing stories straight to listeners. From shocking oversights to behind-the-scenes chaos, Shannen’s not afraid to say what everyone else won’t—and make you think twice about who’s behind that polished provider profile.
Nyleen Flores
Nyleen Flores, BA, FMSP, CPMSM, CPCS, CPCO, CASC is a healthcare executive with over 16 years of experience and passion for healthcare services management. Nyleen is a Marquis Who’s Who honoree for Excellence in Healthcare Administration, a credentialing subject matter expert with experience in private specialty practice management, provider enrollment, surgical center administration and medical staff services management. Her background in healthcare and commitment to operational excellence ensures healthcare facilities provide an exceptional and unique healthcare experience for all patients. Additionally, her experience includes coordinating, evaluating, planning, developing, and improving the credentialing processes for multiple healthcare systems.
Volunteer experience includes serving as the Chair of the Subject Matter Expert Subcommittee, Professional Development Council and Leadership Selection Committee for the National Association of Medical Staff Services. Awards have included the Florida Association of Medical Staff Services Mentor of the Year Award.
